The available City modes (City, City LoX, City NoX) offer increasingly stringent detection of X-band signals. Additionally, the three-layered City mode helps enhance the ability to prevent false alerts. AutoScan plays a big role in this performance, as its intelligent filtering proved successful in minimizing chatter from false alarms in signal-dense areas. Reviewers and consumers alike have noted the remarkably quiet operation of this device in urban areas. The V995’s ability to minimize and nearly eliminate false alarms, in urban areas, in particular, earns it high praise. Voice alerts help you keep your focus on the road, while the LED display ensures that you’ll be able to view your incoming alerts regardless of visual conditions. The Smart Plug has a handy mute button that allows you to mute incoming alerts without having to reach forward on the dash to the device itself. With AutoScan, your Beltronics Vector 995 uses an internal computer that continuously analyzes incoming signals and works to filter out false alarms.Īdditional features of the V995 include a Smart Plug, voice alerts, and ultra-bright LED display. This new feature helps boost the long-range detection capability of the detector, while also minimizing false alarms. The performance of the V995 is further enhanced by its AutoScan mode. This radar detector also comes with VG-2 radar detector cloaking which prevents it from being identified by law-enforcement detectors. Digital processing technology allows the device to increase its effective range and reduce the number of false alerts through the use of multiple laser sensors. Vector 995 ’s front and rear laser-detection technology helps the device identify signals that originate ahead of your vehicle on the road, as well as behind it. The V995 is powered by a front and rear laser-detection technology, digital signal processing, and an AutoScan mode that help make it one of the most reliable devices available today. I do have one complaint tho.The Beltronics Vector 995 offers full-band protection against X, K, Ka, and Ku radar, as well as laser detection and Safety Warning System (SWS) alerts. Order shipped the same day! Easy to install. What used to be one of the aggravating things to do when parking was to pull it off the windshield, take it down, and put the window shade up.but with the mirror mount, I can leave the detector in place and not have to remove it for the shades!!! Also - with the T-Tops off for most of my drives, it sits high enough and close enough to the windshield that I can hear the detector go off as the beeps resonate off the windshield. It sits back far enough that it is somewhat concealed by the upper tint of the windshield but sits low enough to pick up for any radar band at full meter strength. I can finally get the detector off windshield and away from the intense Texas heat.and since it's up under the mirror, the interior components stand a better chance of surviving and not melting. The mirror mount is simple to install - it doesn't rattle or let the detector vibrate around. In overall, the unit is working as expected knowing I paid a little bit more than conventional radar detectors. There is a little button on the power adapter which allows you to mute the device, for example if you are in a phone call, whic h I found convenient. I like the fact that it provides voice alerts, but really makes no difference to know which signal it is detecting. There are minimal false alarms thanks to the advance signal processing, but there are some. It can detect all US Radar/Laser gun bands (X, K, Ka) as well as non US Ku band, which is an advantage if you plan to travel abroad or if Ku is introduced wishing US borders in the future. The signal detection range is better than average, when compared to other models I own like Cobra, etc., giving me the chance to check and adjust my speed in advance. I purchase my V995 to help me keep an eye on my speed on long highway trips, yet I am using it all the time.
